How Can You Estimate the Cost of Your Basement Remodel
If you’re bathroom contractors who are looking at pricing out the remodeling of a bathroom, it’s important to get an idea of how much you’re going to spend before you begin. In this video, our contractor walks you through the process of putting together an estimate of work.
Start with the shower. Estimate your demo costs, then compute the materials, making sure to include items such as trim and shower pan.
Once your material and tool costs have been estimated, make an estimate of your labor time for the entire process, and add to the estimate.
Next, look at items such as tubs, toilets, flooring, and cabinetry. With each step, repeat the process of estimating the materials involved in demolition and replacing the items, then figure out your labor time and multiply by your hourly rate.
Finally, consider your costs for disposal, and add an additional amount to prepare for contingencies.
Make sure to be clear about which items will not be provided, such as specialty fixtures, tiles, etc.
