Is Landscaping Worth the Money? Three Things to Consider When Planning Your Yard
UPDATED 2/25/21
Are you looking to improve the overall value of your home? Quality landscaping might be the solution. According to the Gallup Organization, it can add from 7 to 15 percent more value onto a home. There are several ways to approach landscaping. Some people will hire landscapers, while others will prefer to do it themselves on the weekend. Here are three things to consider when you are planning out your new yard.
1. Affordable Landscape Design
Having a design drawn out and decided on is a good idea before approaching a landscape project. The advantage of hiring a professional to handle this is that they will understand not only the durability of plants, but their future growth as well. They can also help you with side projects like waterfalls, ponds, patio fire pits and pathways. Excellent landscaping, according to Clemson University, earns residents 7 percent higher sale prices on their homes, as opposed to good landscaping. To find a qualified landscaper, ask friends and family for recommendations, then look up local reviews online.
2. It is Worth the Money
Have you been on the fence about landscape plans? There are definite benefits to having it done. Trees can reduce noise pollution by up to 50 percent, and landscaping in general helps lower air conditioning costs owing to the shading it provides. There are health benefits as well. Beautiful landscaping encourages people to spend more time outdoors, and being outside in nature just 20 minutes a day has been shown to boost vitality levels.
3. Landscaping as Entertainment
One of the newest trends in landscape plans is outdoor kitchens. These kitchens allow people to be outdoors and entertain guests at the same time, all the while surrounded by nature rather than the limited confines of an indoor kitchen. Typical equipment includes a sink, oven, refrigerator, storage cabinet, and awning to protect the kitchen from some elements. A fairly basic set up often costs about 5,000 dollars, with more elaborate kitchens costing more.
A landscaped property is not only beautiful to enjoy, but it also increases the value of your property. If you’re thinking about changing up your current landscape design with more popular landscape designs, you can do it yourself or hire a landscape contractor. Right now, outdoor kitchens are all the rage. They’re great for entertaining during the warmer months, or in the case of places like Arizona, the cooler months. If you are going to DIY your outdoor area, look for sample garden designs online for inspiration. If you decide to go with a landscape contractor, share your vision, and together you can create the garden of your dreams, full of the most beautiful flowers that you choose. Property landscaping is a competitive business so it shouldn’t be hard to find a top landscape company near you. Ask friends and family whose yards you admire for a reference or do an online search for landscape designers near you. Having a beautiful yard that you can enjoy day after day gives you added living space.

my parents got a stone fire pit and I love it. Its safe and gives everyone a place to sit around as it gets darker and the insects come out. Definitely recommend
wow! the outdoor kitchen sounds cool but a little expensive for my tastes. Put that on the list of things I will get when I make more than 20,000 dollars a year lol!
