A recent National Association of Home Builders survey revealed that 78% of the renovation jobs requested are for bathroom renovations. The 2016 Houzz Kitchen Trends Study showed that when renovating their kitchens, 87% of the participants hired professional contractors and design teams to handle this project.

When homeowners decided to upgrade their master bathrooms, 90% changed the overall style, according to the 2016 HouzzBathroom Trends Study. Over four out of five homeowners chose to replace major features in their bathrooms. This included countertops, flooring, sinks, and showers. In addition to replacing old bathtubs and showers with those that had high-tech features, other homeowners chose to have their showers expanded by 50% or even more.
Kitchen Renovation Projects
The 2016 Houzz Kitchen Trends Study found that 76% of the homeowners that renovated their kitchens also changed this room’s overall style. Adding more storage was at the top of the list for 60% of the participants, however. It’s likely that kitchen counter tops with backsplashes were also popular changes along with new appliances.
